Coal Creek

Coal Creek GC, Louisville. Dick Phelps (1990) with renovation by Kevin Norby (2015).

Another course that has apparently been redone to some extent since I last saw it so my thoughts may no longer be valid. The dramatic holes on the hill you see from the highway are very misleading about the character of this course, which mostly sits on low land and plays over and around creeks and cottonwoods.

When I played it, the holes on the hill were the least interesting on the course and they were across a road late in the round really felt as if they were on a completely different course than where you had started.

It was not a course I got very excited about, but if it was in my backyard, I wouldn’t complain about teeing it up here.
