The Legend at Arrowhead, Glendale. Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, 1986.
This course markets itself with the Palmer name and one very misleading picture looking back up at a dramatic rock-walled tee box set against a mountain. The reality is that this is a mostly flat course surrounded by homes that are way too close to the line of play, with some really ugly mounding, and several road crossings.
A few holes, like the 12th, dogleg hard with homes directly through the fairway and in the line of fire, so you don’t stand on the tee thinking about anything so much as whether you’re up to date on your insurance premiums.
